BLOGGING TIPS: 7 Ways to Write Better Content.

Ways to Write Better Content When You are a Busy Blogger

When it comes to being an active blogger, we truly appreciate the value of time. This is especially true when we have lots of writing jobs on our plate and are under a time crunch. One of the best ways to get through all of your writing, while keeping quality as high as possible, is to keep your distractions to a minimum.

1 – Not Assigning Writing Jobs to Others You Will Have to Edit

Many bloggers and content writers have a few people around them that they can pass along additional work to. This might seem like a good idea, but it can actually add up to more costs, time and frustrations than needed. When you aren’t writing your own work, you have no idea how the end result is going to turn out. The only thing worse than paying someone to write an article for you is having to pay them, then re-writing the whole article again yourself!

2 – Drinking Way More Coffee Than You Really Need

According to an interesting article written for the website called Research Digest, your daily dose of java might be hindering your performance during these important writing sessions. On the other hand, it might actually be making you perform better… but it depends on whether you are a man or a woman. If you are a man, you are found to perform worse if you drank some coffee, but if you are a woman, then you perform a lot better. Since I’m a man… it seems like coffee might not be helping! ðŸ™‚

3 – Pre-Planning Your Article Writing Way Longer than Needed

When you have a writing project that you just can’t seem to figure out, sometimes it’s best to start writing and then go back and edit your work afterward. The biggest problem with spending too much on the pre-planning process, is that it can quickly turn into 15, 20 even 30 minutes — which means nothing was actually getting done. According to an article written by Drake Baer for the website called BusinessInsider, you have to focus on counting your tasks instead of your time.

4 – Writing While at Work of During a Conference

Writing is a skill that needs a lot of your focus. If it isn’t there, it can clearly be seen when your audience is reading it. Just like if you were in a meeting or at a conference, you should put your phone away while you are listening to other people — the same holds true for when you are writing. The less distractions, the better. This is especially obvious if you are attending a video meeting for business or on a video conference call. Put those tasks off and do them after the discussion has been wrapped up.

5 – Make Sure You Eat Breakfast or a Light Lunch Before Writing

When it comes to writing, you need to make sure your mind is going and that you are fully energized. This is another component that can clearly be seen through your content writing. If you skip breakfast, you might feel sluggish — however, if you eat too big of a breakfast or afternoon lunch, you might feel overstuffed and sluggish. These aren’t the biggest contributors to the success of your writing… but they definitely play a part in the process.

6 – Getting Too Far Behind in Your Writing Jobs

As mentioned earlier, writing is a process that takes a lot of time and focus. If you find you are behind and need to finish a lot of work in a small amount of time, it’s likely you are going to try and run through as many articles as you can. This means you quality is likely to be lacking and the articles won’t be worth your audience’s time either. This is simply a lose-lose situation.

7 – Simply Having No Idea What or Why You are Writing in the First Place

Have you ever felt the need to write an article just because you wanted to get something published on your blog? This is something many bloggers struggle with. Even corporate blogs fall victim to this problem as well. The problem with writing content when you aren’t sure what it’s going to be about, or why you are writing in the first place… is that it wastes time and usually results in content that doesn’t make much sense. If you really feel that you are in need of content on your website or blog, take a look at what has worked for you in the past and see if you can come up with any new and creative ways to spin that same content into something new.
Avoiding the Many Pitfalls of Content Writing Overload
As mentioned throughout the article, there are many ways to be distracted and create less than professional work as a content writer. To improve your writing style and performance, try and stick with writing plan and schedule that works for you. More often than not, many of the issues I mentioned above can be avoided simply by having better time and management skills.
